ATIS Network Reliability Steering Committee Updates Emergency Preparedness and Response Checklist

ATIS Network Reliability Steering Committee Updates Emergency Preparedness and Response Checklist

ATIS today announced publication of an updated checklist of voluntary industry best practices as a reference in preparation for, response to, and recovery from a disaster event: the NRSC Emergency Preparedness and Response Checklist. This resource updates the previous version, which was revised in 2019.

The updated Checklist incorporates additional best practices derived from industry response to increasingly common wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes and other disasters. Additionally, the Checklist supports the industry in its efforts to minimize the impact of a disaster and ensure network stability by presenting recommended actions to be taken to prepare, respond to and recover from a disaster.

In addition to telecommunications industry input, NRSC’s Checklist also reflects insights gained from NRSC member participation in cross-industry forums.  These forums currently address issues in areas including power, water and finance.  Based on recent discussions, ATIS’ Network Reliability Steering Committee (NRSC), has also suggested the addition of a new Industry Role for “Power” for use in Best Practices. This new Industry Role is reflected in the Checklist.

Access the NRSC Emergency Preparedness and Response Checklist.
