3GPP Introduces New 6G Logo

3GPP presents its new 6G logo, approved at the 3GPP Project Coordination Group/Organizational Partner (OP) meeting hosted by ATIS this week in Reston, Virginia.  It will be used as a visual representation of 3GPP’s important work in shaping the next generation of mobile communications – 6G.

In late 2023, 3GPP Organizational Partners: ARIB, ATIS, CCSA, ETSI, TSDSI, TTA and TTC announced that 3GPP will develop the next generation of global communications specifications, 6G.  Based on its success over several technology generations — from 3G to 5G — 3GPP is uniquely positioned to develop the standard for the sixth generation of mobile systems or “6G”. The organization’s consensus-based process delivers the critical technical specifications that provide a complete system description for the mobile networks that billions of users depend on.

“ATIS is the North American Organizational Partner for the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), and our Next G Alliance is delivering North American leadership in 6G and beyond,” said ATIS President and CEO Susan Miller. “We look forward to showcasing the 3GPP 6G logo to demonstrate our alignment with our global partners in shaping the future of mobile communications.”

In addition to the 3GPP meetings held this week in the U.S., ATIS will host the 3GPP Working Group meetings in November in Orlando, Florida:  https://3gppmeetings.atis.org/orlando2024.
