ATIS today announced release of the Content Classification for Traffic Optimization white paper, which presents user insights to help service providers manage an ever-increasing volume of Internet traffic while optimizing user Quality of Experience (QoE). The paper presents user stories covering common situations where intelligent traffic management techniques, based on specific traffic flow attributes, can be used to optimize QoE.
Solutions to refine traffic management are needed more than ever, as the last few years have brought an upsurge in teleworkers working from home and satellite offices, increasing the use of real-time media and latency-sensitive collaboration and communications services.
This new ATIS white paper makes a major industry contribution to ensure network performance and enhance resource utilization through traffic optimization. It also offers potential solution guidelines along with a template to help the industry develop and deploy new solutions to address the expressed needs.
“With the publication of Content Classification for Traffic Optimization, ATIS’ work in this area is far from complete,” said ATIS President and CEO Susan Miller. “ATIS is currently entering Phase 2 of this initiative, which will focus on creating deployable solutions. This work will identify, develop and deploy new traffic-management solutions to continue to better meet the needs of users, network providers and application providers.”
