Next G Alliance Releases Spectrum Recommendations to Advance the 6G Future
WASHINGTON, Sept. 8, 2026 — ATIS today announced publication of 6G Spectrum Recommendations, a Next G Alliance (NGA) white paper that provides a strategic blueprint for securing the wireless spectrum necessary to launch commercial 6G networks by 2030.
It contains an evaluation of the recently proposed U.S. spectrum pipeline, analyzing incumbent federal and non-federal bands, as well as emerging space-based coverage paradigms such as mobile satellite services (MSS) and supplementary coverage from space (SCS).
The analysis delivers a wide range of value to key audiences. For industry executives, it outlines the technical, regulatory, and policy pathways required to transition identified spectrum from government study into deployable commercial bands. For U.S. regulators and industry alike, it presents challenges facing the country’s role as a world leader in the adoption of robotics, automation, and advanced immersive technologies. The white paper was developed by the NGA Spectrum Working Group, which is proactively addressing the spectrum issues of a Next G world.
