AIDC delivers solutions to simplify receiving, shipping, transportation and tracing processes for telecommunications products. Its work helps the industry achieve greater efficiencies in transactions between companies and throughout the global supply chain.
The Committee delivers essential guidelines for common shipping labels, product marking labels, RFID tagging, product changes and software issuance standards. It also acts as a critical liaison with several groups to ensure integration of U.S. and global standards.
Highlights:
- Among its many areas of contribution to the ICT industry, AIDC address the shipping and receiving of network assets. It is currently reviewing key documents that will affect how ICT industry service providers do business. The Committee encourages participation from all sectors to make these resources top quality and highly relevant. Now under review:
- Implementation Guide for Package Labeling (ATIS-0300036): This document contains information as to what data is to be found on product packaging to receive shipped goods in a mechanized manner. Changes being discussed directly affect how your company receives product packaging. Those involved with receiving network assets will feel the impact.
- For the Product Marking Implementation Guide (ATIS-0300038) under discussion, there is a proposal to add Country of Origin as a mandatory data element to be included within the two-dimensional (2D) bar code symbol that is part of the Product Label, also known as CLEI Code bar code labels.
