ESIF: Emergency Services Interconnection Forum
- Issue: 0110
- Title: Develop checklist forms and guidelines documentation for use by PSAPs and 9-1-1 authorities to request services to support FCC NPRM on LBR and IP connectivity.
- Statement: Business Need:
The current FCC NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rulemaking), docket 18-64, outlines proposed rules and timelines in support of deploying LBR functionality and establishing IP connectivity between originating providers and toward PSAPs based on FCC set timelines stemming from yet-to-be established dates for such services.
Based on the background above, there is a need for documented processes that provide the necessary prerequisites that must be met before a request is made and the steps involved in making the request for LBR and IP connectivity services from an OSP toward an ESInet/NGCS. This documentation would be in the form of an implementation checklist that provides guidelines for PSAPs to expedite requests and reduce confusion.
Issue Statement:
Create checklists and guideline documentation for PSAPs to request LBR, and IP connectivity from CMRS OSPs and covered text providers.
