ATIS today announced that David Young has joined the organization in the position of Vice President of Technology and Solutions. Young succeeds ATIS’ Mike Nawrocki, who will be retiring after an eight-year tenure in this position. In his new role, Young will provide direction on emerging technology trends in the many areas in which ATIS advances member objectives. This includes serving as managing director of ATIS’ Next G Alliance, a position Nawrocki, who was pivotal in launching the NGA, also held. With an extensive member base that spans industry, academia and government, the NGA is delivering the foundation for North American leadership in 6G and beyond.
Young comes to ATIS after a career at Verizon, most recently serving eight years as the organization’s Vice President of Public Policy. His extensive career in telecommunications includes working as principal technologist doing research and development in Verizon’s CTO organization and was a named inventor on 12 U.S. patents. He has served on major industry bodies, including the ATIS board of directors, both as first and second vice chair from 2017-2022; as vice chair of the board of TPRC (the Technology Policy Research Conference); and on the board of the Internet Education Foundation; and has represented Verizon on the FCC’s Technological Advisory Council. “With his broad industry experience, strong technology background, and direct knowledge of how ATIS achieves results, David is a strategic addition to the ATIS leadership team and our technical bench,” said ATIS President and CEO Susan Miller. “We welcome him and look forward to engaging as we advance our members’ business priorities.” |
