Background: The 2026 edition of NFPA 855 will soon be finalized and published. In this discussion, experts dive into the particulars of NFPA 855, the upcoming changes to it, and how this is relevant to battery deployments in communications systems and networks. Lithium ion (Li-ion) batteries will be discussed, as well as their improvements and drawbacks. Also covered are NFPA 855’s limitations and exceptions on Li-ion and other battery technologies.
